HB468 Summary

• Increases the minimum number of prospective employers an unemployed individual must contact from 3 to 5 for each week of unemployment claimed to remain eligible for benefits.

• Defines "failure to seek or accept suitable work" to include failure to appear for a scheduled interview or skills test without notifying the prospective employer, unless good cause exists.

• Establishes that a claimant who fails to respond to an offer to return to work or suitable employment offer within 72 hours shall be deemed a rejection of the offer.

• Makes nonsubstantive technical revisions to update unemployment compensation code language to current style and clarify existing provisions.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2024.
