Effective January 20, 2025, the Judge of Probate of Walker County shall receive an annual salary equal to the first step of the state base salary paid to a state district court judge.

The judge of probate is entitled to the same salary increases as district judges with equivalent years of service, including step increases and cost-of-living adjustments.

The salary replaces all prior compensation or salary provided by law to the judge of probate.

Salary payments shall be made in equal periodic installments from the general fund of Walker County.

Any new judge of probate elected or appointed after January 20, 2025, shall revert to the first step of the state base salary for district court judges.
