Franklin County Coroner receives an immediate expense allowance of $9,700 per annum paid monthly from the county general fund.

Beginning the next term of office, the expense allowance is void and replaced with an annual salary of $10,000 paid monthly from the county general fund.

Coroner's salary increases with uniform compensation increases granted to all county employees and the coroner may participate in county health insurance and retirement plans on the same terms as county employees.

Franklin County Commission may appropriate funds for the coroner's salary, benefits, expenses, and motor vehicle operation or furnish a county vehicle.

Franklin County Commission may authorize the coroner to appoint one or more deputy coroners and provide compensation for them; previous acts regarding coroner compensation are repealed and the act becomes effective June 1, 2024.
