• Amends Alabama Code Section 20-2-214 to allow up to two employees designated by a licensed dentist to access the Controlled Substances Prescription Database on the dentist's behalf, provided the dentist is approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health and has authority to prescribe, dispense, or administer controlled substances.

• Aligns dentist employee access with existing provisions for physician employees, who were already permitted to access the database through up to two designated employees.

• Requires approval from the Alabama Department of Public Health before dentist employees can be granted access to the controlled substances database.

• Becomes effective on October 1, 2024.
