Amends Alabama Code Section 13A-10-9 to establish penalties for false reporting to law enforcement authorities, with a Class A misdemeanor for standard false reports and a Class C felony when the false report alleges imminent danger to a person or the public.

Requires persons convicted of false reporting that results in an emergency response or investigation to pay restitution for all reasonable expenses incurred by law enforcement and assisting governmental agencies.

Restitution covers costs of police, firefighting, emergency medical services, and personnel costs of responders to the incident.

Effective date is October 1, 2024.

Exempted from additional requirements under Alabama Constitution Section 111.05 because it amends the definition of an existing crime.
