Officer Zach Booth of the Hackleburg Police Department is commended for heroic and lifesaving actions on February 27, 2024.

Officer Booth discovered a residence fire in the Crestview Heights neighborhood during routine patrol around 1:00 a.m. and quickly alerted occupants.

His actions saved the lives of a 72-year-old homeowner, his granddaughter, and her friend by waking them and assisting the homeowner into his wheelchair to safety.

Officer Booth is a one-year veteran of the police force, Gordo High School graduate, and four-year United States Air Force veteran currently residing in Hamilton.

The resolution honors Officer Booth's lifesaving actions and outstanding service to the citizens of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed by the House on March 21, 2024, and adopted by the Senate on April 4, 2024.
