Screening tests can prevent up to 60 percent of colorectal cancer deaths if individuals aged 50 or older receive regular screenings, with a 90 percent five-year survival rate when detected early.

Encourages all Alabamians age 45 and older to obtain colorectal screening, noting that one in three adults over 50 are not up to date with recommended screenings.
