AL HJR15

Extends the Joint Interim Study Commission on Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, which was originally created by Act 2023-521 in the 2023 Regular Session to address challenges faced by grandparents raising grandchildren.

Requires the study commission to submit its findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Legislature no later than the third legislative day of the 2025 Regular Session, with the commission dissolving upon filing its report.

Mandates the study commission provide notice of all meetings, member names, and copies of the final report and all documents to the Secretary of State pursuant to Section 36-14-17.1, Code of Alabama 1975.

Passed by the House on February 20, 2024, and adopted by the Senate on February 29, 2024.
