Recognizes Mulberry Medical Associates, founded May 5, 1984, by Dr. John Jernigan, for 40 years of dedicated community service in Internal Medicine to the Montgomery area.

Acknowledges the practice's expansion in 1991 with Drs. Joel McCloud and Norman Taylor, and in 1998 with Drs. Leon and Mary Casals, making it the largest minority medical group in Alabama.

Honors the organization's training of over 400 health care providers including nurses, nurse practitioner students, medical students, and internal medicine residents.

Recognizes the physicians' work at Jackson Hospital, Baptist Medical Center, and other health care facilities serving diverse patient populations including poor, indigent, and professional communities.
