Recognizes Easton Fothergill, a University of Montevallo student, for winning the 2023 Strike King Bassmaster College Series Classic Bracket Championship held September 29 to October 2, 2023 on Milford Lake in Kansas.

Fothergill defeated Jack Alexander of Montevallo in Round 1, Hayden Marbut of Auburn in Round 2, and Tucker Smith of Auburn in the Championship Round, winning with a final day catch of 11 pounds, 13 ounces.

Fothergill accomplished this victory approximately one month after undergoing emergency brain surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for an abscess in his brain.

Fothergill is a member of the University of Montevallo's Outdoor Scholars Program studying conservation, the environment, and game management.

The legislature of Alabama accords highest commendation to Fothergill in recognition of his perseverance in winning the championship following his brain surgery recovery.
