Honors Josephine Sawyer McKinney for receiving recognition from the Willie and Betty Farrior Family Foundation for outstanding service to the Talladega Community and State of Alabama.

McKinney holds degrees from Gadsden State Community College, Jacksonville State University, and Rushing Springs School of Theology, and is pursuing a Master's in Christian Education from Selma University.

Serves in various civic roles including Talladega County Board of Registrars, Talladega County NAACP (Secretary, Membership Chairperson, Scholarship Committee Member), Talladega County Democratic Conference, and Talladega Redevelopment Authority.

Participates extensively in community outreach through Alabama Baptist State Minister's Wives Auxiliary, Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women Ministry, Aid to Inmate Mothers (AIM) Prison Ministry, and Second Chance Ministry Program for domestic violence victims.

Retired from Fort McClellan as Senior Auditor in the Internal Review and Audit Compliance Office and serves as Christian Education Director and Sunday School Teacher at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
