Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama will celebrate its 126th Founders' Day on March 8, 2024, with a recognition ceremony at First Baptist Church of Fairfield at 11:00 A.M.

Miles College is a private, historically Black college founded in 1898 by the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church and chartered in 1905 as Miles Memorial College in honor of Bishop William H. Miles.

The college is conducting a comprehensive fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $25 million for scholarships, academic programs, infrastructure renovation, endowment fortification, and community development initiatives.

Dr. Thomas Beavers, pastor of New Rising Star, will deliver the keynote address at the Founders' Day celebration.

The House of Representatives extends highest commendation to Miles College and offers sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
