Alabama Holocaust Commission will host the 2024 State Yom HaShoah Commemoration on May 2, 2024, at the Alabama Department of Archives and History.

Yom HaShoah commemorates the 6,000,000 Jewish men, women, and children who perished in the Holocaust, instituted by Israel in 1951.

House recognizes and honors the memory of Holocaust victims, survivors who died within the last year, and living survivors.

Commemorations may include synagogue services, communal vigils, educational programs, memorial candle lighting, and prayers for the departed.
