On May 12, 2023, Senior Trooper Adkinson responded to a traffic accident scene in front of Medmark Treatment Center in Dothan and witnessed a Honda SUV swerve into a median, become airborne, and land in Bear Creek.

Senior Trooper Adkinson shattered the rear hatch window and jumped into the water to extract the driver, with assistance from another officer and civilians, successfully rescuing the driver from drowning.

The House of Representatives honors Senior Trooper Adkinson with utmost gratitude, admiration, and esteem for his immense bravery and unwavering commitment to protect and serve others.
