Posthumously recognizes Officer Garrett Crumby as a recipient of the 2024 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award.

On March 28, 2023, Officer Crumby died while responding to a shooting in progress at Governor's Bend Apartment Complex in Huntsville after being shot multiple times while entering Apartment #506.

Officer Crumby and fellow Officer Albert Morin identified themselves at the apartment door and heard screaming from inside before Crumby opened the door and was shot; Morin returned fire and radioed for assistance.

Both officers were transported to Huntsville Hospital where Crumby succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.

House of Representatives honors Officer Crumby for his immense bravery and unwavering commitment to protect and serve others.
