Honors Officer Albert Morin as a recipient of the 2024 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On March 28, 2023, Officers Garrett Crumby and Albert Morin responded to a shooting at Governor's Bend Apartment Complex in Huntsville; Officer Crumby was fatally shot when opening the apartment door.

Officer Morin fired one shot at the suspect before jumping off the balcony to escape; he sustained life-threatening injuries requiring major surgery.

Officer Morin's actions prevented a potentially more catastrophic event by wounding the suspect, who then gave up after a brief stand-off; the offender was charged with capital murder of a law enforcement officer.

The House of Representatives dedicates this resolution to Officer Morin in recognition of his immense bravery and unwavering commitment to protect and serve others.
