Commends and congratulates St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church on celebrating its 150th Anniversary.

Church was founded as First Evangelical Protestant Church by Colonel Johann Gottgried Cullmann and five families who settled the area; 123 additional German-speaking families soon arrived.

Services were conducted in German until 1932 when limited to twice monthly, then discontinued entirely in 1941 as the English-speaking population grew.

Church affiliated with German Evangelical Church of North America in 1931, merged with Reformed Church to form Evangelical and Reformed denomination, then merged in 1957 with Congregational Christian churches to become United Church of Christ.

Currently led by Senior Pastor Reverend Dr. John Richter and offers worship services, small groups, youth and senior ministries, and community outreach to all denominations.
