Commends and congratulates the Edgewood Academy Varsity Girls Basketball Team and coaches Brad Starks and Mac Newton for winning the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) Class AA State Basketball Championship on February 9, 2024.

Team won their third consecutive AISA Class AA state championship with a 46-28 victory over Sparta Academy at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex in Montgomery.

Team finished the 2024 season with a 28-3 record and achieved a 78-9 record over the last three seasons.

Senior athlete Lindsey Brown led outstanding performance in the Final Four with 25 points, six steals, four assists, five rebounds, and two blocks against Southern Academy; she finished the season with 10 total state championships across basketball, volleyball, and softball.

Championship roster includes seniors Lindsey Brown and Madison Martin; juniors Emerson Boddie, Emmah Clement, Haidynn Cotterill, Elizabeth Ellis, and Avery White; sophomores Kadie Bence and Aubrey Newton; and freshmen Hayden Hudson, Lexie Smith, Addie Stubbs, and Savannah Wood.
