Chris Abney Zeigler Dendy died on July 8, 2023, at age 79; she was born March 2, 1944, in Lafayette, Georgia, to Judge W.L. and Lillian Abney and held degrees from the University of Georgia and Florida State University.

Recognized nationally and internationally as an expert on attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and executive function deficits (EFD), serving 50+ years as a teacher, school psychologist, counselor, mental health administrator, lobbyist, CEO, board director, speaker, and author.

Authored five books including "Teenagers with ADD & ADHD: A Guide for Parents" and "Teaching Teens with ADD, ADHD, and Executive Function Defectives"; her ADHD Iceberg poster was published in multiple languages worldwide.

Conducted four days of intensive training sessions on ADHD and EFD for eight years at Camp Dendy in Alabama, personally educating more than 80 individuals from the United States and Canada; served over 30 years with CHADD, inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2006 and awarded its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert Thomas "Tommy" Dendy; survived by two sons, one daughter, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
