Commends and congratulates the Jasper High School Girls Basketball Team for winning the AHSAA Class 5A State Basketball Championship on March 2, 2024, at BJCC Legacy Arena in Birmingham with a 48-44 victory over Scottsboro High School.

Senior Mia Hollingsworth earned tournament MVP honors with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals, including the go-ahead basket with 4:01 remaining in the game.

Sophomore Missy Odom tied for team-high with 16 points plus 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots; senior Hallie Harrell added 12 points and 7 rebounds; three players selected to Class 5A Girls All-Tourney Team.

2023-2024 team finished with 31-4 overall record (second-most wins in school history), set AHSAA State record with 22 three-pointers in a single game, went 6-0 in 5A Area 10 play, and won Regular Season and Northwest Regional championships.

Head Coach Blake Laney and Assistant Coaches Vess Hollingsworth and Jackee Key recognized for their leadership and development of the players' knowledge, execution, and sportsmanship.
