SB101 Summary

• Removes all provisions governing apprentices and apprentice registration requirements from the Board of Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors regulations.

• Increases maximum performance bond requirement for active certified contractors from $15,000 to $25,000 per year.

• Allows heating and air conditioning contractors to perform electrical work incidental to the installation, service, or repair of residential heating and air conditioning systems.

• Makes technical and nonsubstantive revisions to update existing code language, including changing "person" to "individual" and "shall" to "may" throughout applicable sections.

• Effective date: October 1, 2024.
