AL SB15

Amends Section 34-23-151 of the Alabama Code to modify supervision requirements for pharmacy technicians during drug compounding operations.

Removes the fixed limit of "no more than three technicians per pharmacist" and replaces it with a flexible standard requiring technician numbers to comply with supervision ratios established by Board of Pharmacy rule.

Maintains existing requirements that pharmacists verify prescriptions, approve compound components, review compounding records, and ensure proper equipment maintenance and personnel authorization.

Becomes effective on June 1, 2024.
