Prohibits public K-12 schools from denying immediate athletic eligibility to dependent children of full-time active duty military parents who enroll due to a permanent change of station order, regardless of enrollment date.

Applies the same prohibition to athletic associations operating in the state that receive public funds and whose members use public facilities.

Allows schools and athletic associations to require parents to provide permanent change of station orders to verify a bona fide military move.

Becomes effective October 1, 2024.

Passed the Alabama Senate on April 2, 2024 with a vote of 30-0.
