Amends Section 26-17-636 of the Alabama Code to modify retroactivity provisions for child support orders entered within the first year after a child's birth.

Child support orders entered within one year of birth shall be retroactive to nine months prior to the child's birth.

Limits parent's liabilities for past support to two years preceding commencement of enforcement action, except as provided in Title 30, Chapter 3, Article 5.

Maintains existing provisions regarding court authority to assess fees, costs, expenses, and attorney's fees in paternity and support proceedings.

Becomes effective October 1, 2024; passed by Alabama Senate with 33 yes votes, 0 no votes on April 9, 2024.
