SB75 Summary

• Appropriates funds from the Education Trust Fund and other sources for support, maintenance, and development of public education in Alabama for fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, including debt service and capital outlay.

• Establishes State Employees' Insurance Board (SEIB) rate at $997 per month for each full-time employee for FY 2025.

• Requires local education agencies to expend at least $100,000,000 of federal stimulus funds for safely reopening schools programs including screening, testing, isolation, and quarantine of students and personnel.

• Prohibits colleges and universities from using appropriations to reduce or eliminate tuition rates for high school students in dual enrollment or early college programs unless specifically appropriated for that purpose.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2024.
