AL SB92

Amends Alabama Code Section 1-1-1 to define sex-based terms including man, woman, boy, girl, father, mother, male, female, and sex based on biological reproductive systems or birth designation.

Establishes legislative policy that there are only two sexes (male and female), that men and women are legally equal but not physically identical, and that individuals with differences in sex development are not a third sex.

Permits state and political subdivisions to establish separate single-sex spaces or environments when biology, privacy, safety, or fairness are implicated.

Requires school districts, public schools, state agencies, and political subdivisions collecting vital statistics related to sex to identify each individual as either male or female based on sex observed or clinically verified at birth.

Becomes effective October 1, 2024.
