AL SB99

Requires the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts to conduct a one-time audit of any entity that determines high school athlete eligibility and derives funding from hosting high school athletic events on school property by July 1, 2025.

Audited entities must submit a report within 30 days of receiving audit results to the Speaker of the House and President Pro Tempore of the Senate, detailing findings and measures taken or planned to address any shortcomings.

Establishes a temporary legislative committee comprised of 5 House members (including 2 minority party members) and 5 Senate members (including 2 minority party members) to receive and review the audit findings presented by the audited entity.

Committee dissolves upon completion of its meeting with the audited entity.

The bill becomes effective June 1, 2024, and automatically repeals on January 1, 2026.
