Celebrates Providence Baptist Church's 140th anniversary, located south of Opelika in the Community of Beauregard, organized in 1884 and affiliated with the Tuskegee Baptist Association in 1904

Church grew from a one-room wooden structure to facilities including a sanctuary built in 1965, a children's education building built in 1973, and a 41-acre "West Campus" voted on in January 2001

Congregation has grown to over 1,700 members; Dr. Rusty J. Sowell has served as pastor for 40 years since April 1984, with Dr. Thomas R. Smith as Minister of Music since 1974 and Reverend Chuck Adams as Minister to Students since 2004

Sunday School organization began in 1904 and was promoted by Mrs. Mary Mayberry for teaching scripture to children in the community
