AL HB12

Amends Alabama Code Sections 13A-11-62 and 13A-11-63 to define a bump stock as any part, device, accessory, or combination designed to harness recoil energy to repeatedly activate a firearm's trigger.

Prohibits any person from possessing, obtaining, receiving, selling, or using a bump stock, making violation a Class C felony.

Exempts peace officers from the prohibition when possessing or using bump stocks in the course of official duties.

Preserves the right to manufacture, import, sell, possess, or transport firearms or parts that are lawfully owned or possessed under federal law.

Takes effect October 1, 2025.
