AL HB162

Prohibits the state, political subdivisions, and their law enforcement officers, agents, and employees from transporting homeless individuals to another city or county within the state unless authorized by law, court order, or consent from the homeless individual or their agent.

Allows transportation if the state or political subdivision has written consent from an entity in another city or county agreeing to accept homeless individuals and the entity actually accepts them.

Defines "homeless" according to Section 15-20A-4 of the Alabama Code.

Establishes violations as Class A misdemeanors with a separate violation counted for each individual transported.

Becomes effective October 1, 2025.
