AL HB223

Authorizes the St. Clair County Commission to grant cost-of-living increases or lump-sum payments to former sheriffs and revenue commissioners serving in supernumerary offices.

These payments shall match those paid to county retirees under the State Employees' Retirement System, provided retiree payments have been county commission approved.

Supernumerary retirement payments require county commission approval for each fiscal year that retiree payments are made and must follow the same terms and conditions.

Payments shall be funded from the county's general fund.

Act becomes effective June 1, 2025.
