AL HB24

Authorizes the Alabama Department of Public Health's designated regional agencies of the Office of Emergency Medical Services to provide emergency medical services education and participate in the Volunteer Rescue Squad Tuition Reimbursement Program alongside existing institutions (ACCS, Fire College, University of South Alabama).

Expands the definition of "eligible educational institution" to include designated regional EMS agencies offering EMSP certification programs.

Requires the Alabama Department of Public Health to adopt rules imposing a monetary cap on tuition reimbursement for students completing programs through designated regional EMS agencies, not to exceed caps in effect for the Alabama Fire College.

Mandates that the Alabama Department of Public Health adopt credentialing and accreditation standards for private companies and instructors teaching courses on behalf of designated EMS regional agencies that are equal to standards of other eligible educational institutions.

Becomes effective October 1, 2025.
