Removes the restriction that prohibits Class IV municipalities from hiring the same accountant to conduct municipal audits for more than three consecutive fiscal years.

Amends Section 11-43B-9 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to allow municipalities greater flexibility in retaining audit services without term limits.

Maintains existing requirements that audits be conducted by a reputable, disinterested certified public accountant and that audit summaries be published in a newspaper of general circulation.

Takes effect on October 1, 2025.
