Authorizes the Sheriff of Jefferson County to appoint special reserve deputies to execute writs when more than 250 writs are pending in the county.

Special reserve deputies must be certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission, not currently employed by the sheriff's department, and have completed sheriff-approved writ execution training within the last three years.

Property owners may pay special reserve deputies up to $250 in fees following writ service, with payment made directly to the deputy rather than the county or sheriff.

Special reserve deputies receive the same legal immunities and protections as regular deputies under Alabama Code Section 36-22-3 when acting within the scope of their duties.

The act becomes effective October 1, 2025.
