Amends Section 15-23-12 of the Alabama Code to extend the filing deadline for crime victims compensation claims from one year to two years after the injury or death occurs.

Claims filed later than two years after the incident may still be considered if the Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission finds good cause for the delayed filing.

All other eligibility requirements and restrictions for compensation remain unchanged, including prohibitions on awards to offenders, accomplices, and those who fail to cooperate with law enforcement.

The act becomes effective on October 1, 2025.
