Clarke County commissioners shall receive an annual expense allowance of $8,000, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund, effective the first day of the month following adoption of this act.

The expense allowance is in addition to all other compensation or benefits and may be treated as compensation for retirement purposes.

Effective at the next term of office for any county commissioner, the annual salary of each commissioner shall be increased by $8,000 and the expense allowance shall become void.

The expense allowance and salary provided in this act supersede any other law providing compensation, expense allowances, or salary for Clarke County commissioners.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage.
