Increases the meal allowance for state employees traveling without an overnight stay from 15 percent to 17.5 percent of the regular per diem rate for trips lasting 6 to 12 hours.

Applies to employees traveling inside Alabama in service of the state or its departments, institutions, boards, bureaus, and commissions.

Does not change allowances for trips exceeding 12 hours' duration, which remain one meal allowance plus one-fourth of the per diem allowance.

Becomes effective October 1, 2025.
