• Authorizes the Lawrence County Sheriff to establish procedures for using credit cards or debit cards to purchase tangible personal property and services.

• Requires the sheriff to adopt written policies including monetary limits per purchase and monthly totals, sole access controls, accurate record-keeping, monthly bill reviews, and timely full payment to avoid fees.

• Requires the sheriff to select card providers considering annual fees, rewards/rebates, interest rates, service charges, late fees, and termination penalties.

• Directs any rewards or rebates earned from card use to be deposited into the Lawrence County Sheriff's Discretionary Fund.

• Specifies purchases must be paid from the Discretionary Fund, except travel expenses paid from the general fund budget, and prohibits exceeding appropriated funds or creating county debt; effective October 1, 2025.
