Butler County Commission may levy an annual additional motor vehicle license and registration issuance fee of up to $5.25 per vehicle, effective for registrations beginning January 1, 2026, with authority to establish the fee by December 1, 2025.

The fee applies to all new registrations, transfers, and renewals on any vehicle in Butler County and is in addition to all other existing fees, taxes, and charges.

County license issuing official shall collect the fee and distribute proceeds monthly in equal one-third shares to the sheriff, revenue commissioner, and judge of probate.

The fee is limited to one continuing annual fee amount of up to $5.25.

Act becomes effective June 1, 2025.
