AL HB594

Amends Alabama Code sections 34-17-1, 34-17-20, 34-17-21, 34-17-22, 34-17-25, and 34-17-26 to clarify definitions, examination requirements, and fees for landscape architect licensing.

Replaces board-administered licensing examinations with examinations developed and administered by CLARB (Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards).

Consolidates reciprocity provisions by repealing Section 34-17-23 and replacing detailed reciprocity requirements with simpler language allowing board rule-based reciprocal licensing of landscape architects from other states or countries.

Clarifies licensing eligibility to require either a degree in landscape architecture with examination/experience requirements or satisfaction of reciprocity requirements.

Establishes specific fees including application fee ($150), original certificate fee ($50), annual license fee ($150), reinstatement fee ($300), and inactive status fee ($75); examination fees to be set by board to cover actual costs.

Becomes effective October 1, 2025.
