Amends Section 36-21-40 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to specify that probation and parole officers employed by the Board of Pardons and Paroles are considered law enforcement officers under state law.

Adds the Board of Pardons and Paroles to the definition of "law enforcement agency" in Alabama's Peace Officers' Standards and Training law.

Includes Board of Pardons and Paroles officers in the definition of "law enforcement officer," which previously included state troopers, deputy sheriffs, and officers of the Department of Public Safety and Department of Corrections.

Becomes effective on October 1, 2025.

Passed by the House on February 25, 2025 and the Senate on May 1, 2025.
