Establishes the Alabama Seagrass Restoration Task Force to develop innovative, cost-efficient technologies and approaches to restore seagrass ecosystems in state marine waters.

Task force consists of 10 members including cochairs from Dauphin Island Sea Lab and University of South Alabama, representatives from state agencies, legislature, private enterprise, universities, and marine environmental organizations.

Task force shall develop a 10-year Alabama Seagrass Restoration Plan and report annually to the Governor, Legislature, and Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources with findings, accomplishments, and legislative recommendations.

Dauphin Island Sea Lab serves as fiscal agent and administrative support for the task force, may use appropriated funds to engage with marine science organizations, and may retain funds for administrative costs.

Act becomes effective October 1, 2025; initial task force meeting required by January 1, 2026, with subsequent meetings at least twice annually.
