Recognizes March 2025 as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in Alabama.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, but screening tests can prevent up to 60 percent of deaths in individuals aged 50 and older.

Five-year survival rate for localized colorectal cancer is 90 percent when detected early, but only 39 percent of diagnoses are caught at this stage due to low screening rates.

Encourages all Alabamians aged 45 and older to obtain colorectal cancer screening.

Passed by the House on February 13, 2025 and adopted by the Senate on February 27, 2025.
