• Creates the Alabama Unmanned Aircraft System Study Commission to evaluate drone use within the state, data security vulnerabilities, protective protocols, and feasibility of alternatives to foreign-sourced drones.

• Commission membership consists of 12 members including appointees from the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Senate and House leadership, State Budget Officer, law enforcement, Attorney General, Department of Transportation, sheriffs association, and municipalities.

• Appointing authorities must ensure membership reflects the racial, gender, geographic, urban, rural, and economic diversity of Alabama.

• First meeting must be called by the Governor no later than 90 days after passage; legislative members receive compensation and per diem while nonlegislative members serve without pay but may be reimbursed for expenses.

• Commission must submit findings report to the Legislature by the 15th legislative day of the 2026 Regular Session, after which the commission is dissolved.
