Commends Retired Staff Sergeant Wesley Porter for his leadership as coach of Alba Robotics Team 14180A, "The Super Novas," in advancing robotics and STEM education.

The Super Novas team, consisting of students Colton Murphree, Alex Howell, Harbor Parnell, Kaydence Porter, and Zoe Collier, finished fourth at the 2025 U.S. Open Robotics Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa, competing among 85 teams from 17 countries and 40 states.

Coach Porter was honored as Mentor of the Year at the 2025 U.S. Open Robotics Tournament and recognized as Teacher of the Year at the Alabama State Robotics Championship through SCORE alongside Lissa Cramer.

The Super Novas earned multiple awards including St. Martin's Jackets Teamwork Champion Award, MCPSS LOTC Excellence Award, MCPSS Robotics Challenge Robot Skills Champion, and invitations to the 2025 Alabama State Invitational and U.S. Open Robotics Tournament.

Legislature recognizes Coach Porter's extraordinary contributions to robotics education, student success, and STEM excellence in Alabama.
