Commends the Morgan County Education Retirees Association (MCERA) for winning the Statewide Community Service Award.

MCERA engaged in multiple 2024 service projects including Clothe our Kids "Tuesday Undies," Sleep in Heavenly Peace "No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town," and Neighborhood Christian Center food pantry assistance.

Organization provided Christmas gifts to children with incarcerated parents through partnership with GFWC Alabama River City Woman's Club, Veterans Day cards at City Village Center, and Christmas cards to The Terrace Assisted Living facility in Priceville.

Donated 20 children's books to two Little Free Libraries and provided scholarships to Calhoun Ensemble Singers and a senior student at Athens State University pursuing education.

Legislature expresses appreciation for MCERA members' volunteer work and time dedicated to improving quality of life in Morgan County.
