AL HJR97

Extends the Chronic Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes Task Force, originally created by Act 2023-260 in the 2023 Regular Session, for an additional year to continue developing recommendations on health implications of chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes.

Requires the task force to submit its final report of findings and recommendations to the Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and appropriate legislative committee chairs no later than the fifteenth legislative day of the 2026 Regular Session.

Task force shall be dissolved and discharged of all duties and liabilities upon filing its final report.

Mandates the task force provide the Secretary of State with notice of all meetings, member names, and copies of the final report and all other documents produced throughout the task force's duration, pursuant to Code of Alabama Section 36-14-17.1.
