Recognizes Pink Hard Hat Girls and Women in CTE, Construction, and Manufacturing Programs and Occupations established in Jackson County as an educational workforce development initiative for high school girls and women.

Acknowledges March 2-8 as Women in Construction Week to honor women who have overcome challenges and stereotypes in the construction industry and encourage more women to pursue construction careers.

Notes that women comprise only 11 percent of all construction and manufacturing jobs, including office and administration positions, emphasizing the need to recruit more female workers.

Program participation is open to students in grades 10-12 in CTE, Construction, and Manufacturing programs, as well as women in these careers, student advisers, and partnering companies.

Schools will provide six meetings during the school year with industry visits and female speakers from CTE, Construction, or Manufacturing occupations, including transportation via bus and driver for students.
