Commends Jimmy Rex Wilbanks for 49 years of service at the DeKalb County Courthouse, making him the longest-serving employee in the facility's history.

Wilbanks graduated Jacksonville State University in 1975 and became DeKalb County's first Juvenile Probation Officer, eventually rising to Chief Probation Officer.

Served on the board of directors for the DeKalb County Children's Advocacy Center, held leadership positions with the Alabama Chief Juvenile Probation Officers Association, and served 40 years on the Board of Directors at Coosa Valley Youth Services as Chair for the past 10 years.

Elected to the DeKalb County Board of Education in 1994 and served as Vice Chair and Chair; received the Gene Jones Memorial Award for Outstanding Juvenile Probation Officer in 1983.

The Legislature thanks Wilbanks for his service to DeKalb County and extends best wishes for his future endeavors.
