Rick Clark, Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Alabama Port Authority, is commended for increasing the accessibility, capabilities, and value of the Port of Mobile and its international market connectivity.

Mr. Clark is a Mobile native with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Trinity Southern University and over 30 years of maritime industry experience before joining the Alabama Port Authority in 2019.

Mr. Clark led major projects including deepening and widening the Port of Mobile and the Montgomery Rail Facility, which had its groundbreaking ceremony in February 2025 as a partnership with CSX Railroad.

The Montgomery Rail Facility project, announced in 2022, has attracted over $3 billion in economic development investments from private companies to move containerized cargo to and from the port.

The Alabama Port Authority serves all 67 counties in Alabama and operates deep-water public port facilities with access to five Class I railroads, four short-line railroads, and nearly 15,000 miles of inland waterways.
